Mission

The University of Iowa Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation is uniquely poised to advance the field of brain stimulation.  We have a highly collaborative group of clinicians and researchers working closely together in world-class facilities.

We have three related goals:

Clinical

We are committed to delivering exceptional, patient-oriented clinical care.

Research

We are dedicated to advancing new and improved treatments for brain disorders using noninvasive brain stimulation. We aim to be at the forefront of developing and using new technologies that leverage both advances in our circuit-based understanding of the brain and new methods of delivering brain stimulation. We have a highly interdisciplinary team of scientists and clinician-scientists whose work spans basic, translational, and clinical research to advance this mission.

Education

We will continue to actively recruit and support the brightest and most creative students in the country to join our Center for educational programs.  Training opportunities exist for a wide range of trainees, from undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral trainees to faculty members.  Our goal is to train the next generation of scientists and clinicians that will lead the charge in advancing our field.
